ҺAƬ to Welcome Largest Incoming Class in Six Years

June 28, 2023

ҺAƬ, NY’s comprehensive, evangelical Christian university, is thrilled to announce the arrival of its largest incoming first-year class in the last six years. This significant milestone is a testament to ҺAƬ’s unwavering commitment to Christ-centered excellence in the classroom, playing field, residence halls and beyond.

“After 140 years, ҺAƬ’s mission continues to resonate with students and families. Firmly grounded in unchanging Biblical doctrine, ҺAƬ equips men and women as scholar-servants who will transform the world through their leadership, scholarship, and professional service,” said Wayne D. Lewis, president of the University.

Whether embarking on a degree program in one of ҺAƬ’s longstanding programs like English, and education or studying in one of our newer program areas like cybersecurity and biomedical sciences, a life-altering, Christ-centered learning experience awaits them. I look forward to welcoming each of our incoming students and families as they arrive on campus this fall.

Wayne D. Lewis, President

Over 35% of this incoming class will attend ҺAƬ with the full cost of their tuition covered, thanks in part to the Founder’s Promise Scholarship. This scholarship, new for incoming students this fall, is the latest in a series of efforts to make a Christ-centered college education affordable for more students, which began in 2020 with a tuition reset that dropped tuition to its lowest level in twenty years. The University is now fully prepared to provide an exceptional educational experience to a diverse group of students who are eager to excel in their chosen professions and make a positive impact on society. These students come from 28 U.S. states and territories, 12 countries around the world and represent over 30 Christian denominations.

Among ҺAƬ’s founding principles was the idea that an excellent education is transformational for both the individual and their communities.  Pursuing rigorous academic studies that meet the needs of our contemporary marketplace, grounded within a supportive, Christ-centered environment remains a core commitment of ҺAƬ today.

David Davies, Provost

“In addition to their academic pursuits, these new students will have the opportunity to engage in a vibrant campus life, enriched by a variety of extracurricular activities, spiritual growth opportunities and community service initiatives,” said David Davies, provost.

ҺAƬ is proud to welcome this exceptional group of students who have chosen to embark on an intentionally Christ-centered, academically challenging education in the liberal arts and sciences that has prepared tens of thousands of alumni to make an impact in science, healthcare, mathematics, computer science, law, business, education and ministry. Prospective students and their families are encouraged to explore this community of scholar-servants at ҺAƬ by submitting the free online application for admission. The application opens July 1 for next year’s high school seniors.
